What on Earth am I doing talking about skiing in August?

It’s hot and humid outside. Not really conducive to visions of blue-bird days, chest deep powder and sketchy, straight-lines through rock-lined chutes. Hell, it’s not even conducive to icy Eastern groomers. Maybe it’s because I’m a skier. And judging by the fact that you are here, you are too.

Like me, you probably watch old ski videos over and over, check out reviews of next season’s gear on Youtube (or rewatch reviews of last season’s gear you bought this past Spring), or you’re simply thinking about which dream destination you’re going to hit up this year.

That’s why i started Trams to Treelines.

I wanted a place that felt more like a conversation on a chairlift than another website chasing clicks. A place to talk honestly about gear, mountain towns, ski culture, unforgettable trips, and the little things that make skiing such an obsession.

Maybe I should introduce myself.

I've spent decades skiing, raced when I was younger, lived in mountain towns, worked in ski shops and ski resorts. Big mountain skiing is my passion, whether it be backcountry, side-country, cat-skiing or simply doing laps on perfect corduroy. And whether it’s a two-foot dump in Revelstoke or a six-inch snowfall in Southern Ontario, nothing gets me more excited that fresh tracks.

What’s next!

In the coming weeks we'll dive into new gear, ski destinations, buying guides, mountain culture, awesome videos, social channels to check out and more!

But for now, I'm just glad you're here.

Winter’s coming!
